Arrow loop: translation

A narrow, vertical opening in a wall or *merlon for arrows to be shot through. "Crossbows required horizontal openings, some of which with vertical openings also looked like crosses and were called 'crosslets' or 'arbalestinas'. An arrow loop could also be called a 'porthole'.
